When I first included the webcam on this site, it was in a different location as described below. Now, I have discovered a different webcam farther from the townsite, at a different angle. However, you can still see the hills and lake geography, although this view is more forested residential, and the local weather conditions. At night, the lights of Vernon twinkle in the distance.

There is a beautiful view from the ABNC because there are three lakes nearby: Swan Lake is in the frame of the webcam, but the deep blue Okanagan Lake [SW] and bright emerald Kalamalka Lake [E] are on other sides of the hill. At ABNC, there is one spot to stand where you can view all three lakes and most of the area of Vernon. Unfortunately, it was very hazy due to the forest fires and the photos show the smoke that hung suspended in the valley. The view to the south west had the densest smoke so a clear photo of the Okanagan Lake was not possible.

Vernon is a transportation hub – Hwy 97 and Hwy 6 meet at the south of town with Hwy 6 giving the option of turning east to the town of Nelson and the Kootenays. Hwy 97 continues north, slicing through the Vernon main street [30th Ave] and historical downtown, before continuing as a major thoroughfare, tempting locals and travellers with a variety of fast food, big box chain stores and hotels. Soon after leaving the north end of Vernon, it passes Swan Lake, splitting into a Northeast Hwy 97a that provides a scenic drive to Revelstoke and the Rockies and a main Hwy 97 that goes to Kamloops.
