Water and the sound of water was such a strong theme in our conversation, that Dr. Bob, as he is usually known, must be a member of the Salmon Clan. Although I had known him for ten years, I had no idea that Dr. Bob, a professor in Music at UBC Vancouver, had any links to Vernon until we met briefly at the International Society for Electronic Arts (ISEA) conference Fuse event at the Vancouver Art Gallery in August of 2015. He politely took an interest in the current projects of his former student and I mentioned my Vernon residency. At the mention of the city of Vernon, he grinned happily and told me that he had grown up there and had recently attended his High School reunion. He was kind enough to consent to be interviewed at his UBC office before I returned to the Okanagan.
